Special house meeting, Marcela asks if long term guests can stay

This meeting took place earlier than it was scheduled with no notice of the change. Consequently some members had no input or chance to ask questions.

New business

Marcela knows a couple who are coming to Canada as landed immigrants from Peru. She's friends with the woman. The couple arn't married. The man is an engineer in his early 40s, woman is a communications student in her 30s. They don't know at this point if they'll be applying for trial membership, or what their other options are.

After a bit of talk, the consensus seemed to be that we'd have them as guests for one month, at the end of which they could either apply for trial membership, or if it is not a fit for us or them, we allow them to stay for one more month to give them time to find a place.

We also agreed that, since we'll be holding a room for one month for them, that they send a $500 deposit to be applied to their first month's stay. They will be paying the regular room rate for the month.
